Sampson’s fastball is 91-93, touching 95. Movement on the pitch has improved as the season has progressed. His curveball has also shown improvement since the season started.

Committed To: Washington State

Scouting Report:

According to some scouts, Mitchell Gueller is the top prospect in the Northwest. Gueller is a top two-way prospect, who profiles best on the mound. Should he get to college, he will play both ways at Washington State.

Gueller has a smooth delivery. His fastball is 92-94 and touches 96, with late life and run. He maintains his velocity well. His off speed stuff needs work, but should improve at the next level.

Gueller is also a legitimate prospect as a position player with good tools across the board.

Quotes:

Washington State head coach Donnie Marbut- “In our opinion, Mitch is the best two-way threat in the Northwest. He has a chance to be an everyday outfielder as well as an everyday pitcher. I have no problem calling him the best athlete in this class or we have ever signed, but fellow recruit Austin Pernell might take offense to that. Mitch also has plans to help the Cougar football team in the fall.”

Scouting Report:

The more I see of Taylor Dugas, the more I like him. Dugas’ tools don’t stand out, but his approach to the game and competitiveness are exceptional.

Dugas has a very good approach at the plate, with superior strike zone judgement. He has a smooth line drive swing and more pop than you would expect given his size.

Even with average arm strength, Dugas is a plus defender in the outfield. He gets good jumps and takes good routes, which combined with above average speed, allow him to cover plenty of ground.

Scouting Report:

Vanderbilt lefthander Sam Selman is a high ceiling lefthander who will provide great value after the bigger names have come off the board.

Selman’s fastball ranges from 89 to 94 and has good late movement. He throws a plus slider (78-81) and also has a quality change.

Control has been the only thing holding Selman back. He has shown some improvement, but more will be needed if he is to reach his ceiling at the next level.

Quotes:

Middle Tennesse Coach Steve Peterson- “Selman pitched an outstanding game……just ate our middle of the order up.”
