Rio Ruiz has been on the prospect map for quite a while now and is in line to be drafted in the first round of the 2012 draft.  He is a third baseman who also has strong potential on the mound.
 
Ruiz has an easy swing with plus bat speed.  He drives the ball to all fields.
 
Ruiz is a strong defender at third.  He has soft hands and a strong accurate arm.
 
In addition to baseball, Ruiz is the starting quarterback for Bishop Amat’s football team.
