When I look at cacthing prospects, I see two different groups. The ones who will be sticking behind the plate in the future and the ones who are waiting to move to a different position. Matt Fultz’s present and future are at catcher.
Fultz is a lefthanded power bat. He has very good bat speed. His swing is short and he consistently makes hard contact.
Fultz looks natural behind the plate. He moves well and frames pitches well. Fultz has sub 2 second pop times. He has a good arm and does a good job shutting down the opponent’s running game.
