Ryne Combs is one of the top high school pitchers in the state of Kentucky and a player who deserves more attention than he has been given.
Combs throws a high 80′s fastball and has hit 90. He still has room to fill out and should add more velocity in the future. His slider is his best offering, though he hasn’t had to use it much in high school. His change has sink and shows plus potential. He commands all of his pitches well.
Combs has an easy, low effort delivery and a high 3/4 release. He has a very good pickoff move that really affects the oppoistion’s running game. Coach Kevin Clary, of Kentucky Baseball, referred to Combs as “an absolute bulldog on the mound”.
