Cody Poteet has been on the prospect radar since making USA Baseball’s 14U Team in 2008. He is poised on the mound and does a good job repeating his delivery. Some scouts worry about his frame, but there is little doubt about his arm.
Poteet has great arm speed. He throws a low to mid-90′s fastball that has touched 96. His hard mid-70′s curve is one of the best in the country. He also mixes in a change.
Saving his arm for the summer circuit, Poteet pitched only 17 1/3 innings during his junior year. The rest certainly did not hurt, as Poteet was one of the more impressive pitchers over the summer. He plans to pitch relularly during his senior season.
